We present ten selected images from his latest books ‘Bloke’ and ‘Vagabondo’.

At the top of his craft, not only as a photographer, but also as a visual poet and artist, Paul Freeman’s gift is to discover and unabashedly praise the spirit of a rugged yet sensitive masculine beauty. From his compositions and lighting to the particular harsh texture of his photo shoot locations, his collections set a unique and fascinating tone of sophisticated rawness rarely achieved in books on the male nude.

Paul is known for his five Outback books, (2008-2014) set near his home in the Australian bush. In Larrikin’s next eight-book series (2017-2021), Paul takes Larrikin’s peculiarly Australian ideal of masculinity, the source of his personal aesthetic, and applies it widely, often outside of Australia, with country-specific themes such as England (Larrikin) . Lads ), the United States ( Larrikin Americana) and France ( Larrikin Prince) and recurring themes around the working man ( Larrikin Yakka and Larrikin Outsiders).

In 2022, Paul released his first single-track studio, Ian , captured in just two photoshoots a year apart, and Rock Banned . Now his new books De él Bloke and Vagabondo have just been published, of which we offer a selection.
