Photographer Michael Stokes presents ‘Veterans’ at night barcelona

It’s a selection of photographs of US Army veterans who have been mutilated or wounded. The sample also includes other works chosen by the author.

Based in Los Angeles, photographer Michael Stokes takes a bold new approach in the way of representing the image of wounded veterans. His impressive photographs went around the world through the book ‘Always Loyal’, starring fourteen veterans of the US Army. Also in his previous book ‘Bare Strength’ he devoted a chapter, especially to amputees. ‘Invictus’ and ‘Adonis Blue’ are the most recent, and again dedicated to them. From the sales of these and other books, Stokes has donated $ 47,500 to the Semper Fi Fund, the veterans’ aid foundation.
His always expressive and irresistibly sexy work adds to an extreme sensitivity that necessarily seduces. The work of Michael Stokes has been published in various anthologies, art exhibitions, covers of magazines and books, such as ‘Masculinity’ and ‘Exhibition’, among others. In ‘Veterans’, this exclusive exhibition, Stokes has made a personal selection of its portfolio with a space dedicated to veterans.
